Dog Days: Giants Game

This past weekend, Cooper and I experienced our second Dog Days of Summer in San Francisco with some of our good friends. Dog Days of Summer is an annual summer event hosted by the SF Giants and ASPCA at AT&T Park (presented by Zynga). It's one of the best ways to spend a weekend with your pup while watching a baseball game (in my opinion)!

The price for Dog Days is a $90 combo ticket that includes one bleacher ticket and admission for your canine ($45 each, essentially). While the price-tag is hefty, a portion of each Dog Days ticket benefits the SF SPCA. In addition, every dog will receive a special item (each year is different) upon entry. Last year we got a dog bowl and this year was a leash.

Prior to the game, there's a parade where you and your pup get to strut around the baseball field. It's a lot of fun but the coordinators will rush you whenever you stop for a photo-op. Just ignore them and bask in the moment. Everything flew by pretty fast during the parade so you feel like you just got swept up in a whirlwind. They also have a costume contest as well right after the parade, our friend's corgi went as BB8.

This year, Cooper went with Chompers, Bailey, and Einstein. We had a smaller group this time around compared to the previous year but that didn't stop us from having fun. The boys all had matching Giants bandanas (with their name) and jerseys, they couldn't look happier to be outside. A little fun fact: This Dog Days of Summer marked Bailey's 9 year attendance! His mama is a huge Giants fan and she's been taking Bailey to Dog Days since 2008.

All in all, it was a Sunday well-spent with good company and fantastic weather. Cooper and I look forward to next year's Dog Days of Summer!
